Constantia's legendary white wine estate at the Cape of Good Hope: "Beyond all expectations" – that's how the name of this special winery in Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine-growing region, translates. The family-run estate, which has existed for over 250 years, is located just 10 km south of Cape Town and benefits from a unique location between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. On some of the world's oldest granite soils, internationally acclaimed wines are produced here under the German management of Lars Maack. The Sauvignon Blanc, in particular, is among South Africa's finest.

About Buitenverwachting

Weingut Buitenverwachting in Constantia, Südafrika – historisches Anwesen mit Weinbergen nahe Kapstadt

Buitenverwachting –
Constantia's white wine address at the Cape

Buitenverwachting is located in the heart of Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine-growing region, less than ten kilometers south of Cape Town. The name means "beyond all expectations" – and the winery lives up to it: Over 250 years of winemaking history on granite soils, which count among the oldest in the world, shape a style that combines precision and depth.

The special location between the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean ensures cool breezes that allow the vines to ripen slowly and preserve the aromatics. Under the leadership of Lars Maack, wines are created here that have been internationally awarded – above all the Sauvignon Blanc, which belongs to the South African top class: fresh, structured, with the mineral tension that distinguishes Constantia.

Anyone looking for South African white wine beyond the mainstream will find one of the most convincing addresses at the Cape at Buitenverwachting – artisanal, origin-conscious, and with a clear signature.
