On the nose, you're greeted by a warm, inviting bouquet of plums and ripe cherries , underpinned by subtle notes of wood and tobacco. This complexity is thanks to Meifort's 24 months of aging in French oak barrels – a period that shapes the wine without dominating it. On the palate, it is smooth and luscious, with silky tannins that pleasantly round off the finish.
Highly recommended with braised leg of lamb, venison goulash, or a hearty roast beef . Those wishing to enjoy Meifort on its own should decant it an hour beforehand – this allows it to fully develop its potential. A wine for quiet evenings when the moment matters.

The Winery
Buitenverwachting is Constantia's white wine legend at the Cape of Good Hope. "Beyond all expectations" – that is the translation of the name of this special winery from Constantia, South Africa's oldest wine-growing region.
The family winery, which has existed for over 250 years, is located just 10 km south of Cape Town and benefits from a unique location between the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. On the world's oldest granite soils, internationally awarded wines are created here under the German management of Lars Maack.
The Sauvignon Blanc in particular belongs to the South African top class.
