Aliestre ONE Touriga Nacional Red

A Touriga Nacional that shows what marble soils can do: Aliestre Vineyards grows its vines on plots with marble outcrops near Estremoz in the Alentejo – a geological peculiarity where slate and marble rock meet. The light-colored marble reflects heat while keeping moisture deeper in the soil, which gives the 2022 an unusual freshness for the region.

On the nose, fresh blueberries, spearmint, and a slightly earthy mint spice. The body is dense, the tannins present but not rough, the finish long and cool-balsamic – a clear fingerprint of the marble terroir. Limited to 3,000 bottles.

Drinking temperature 16–18 °C. Goes well with braised lamb, entrecôte with a herb crust, or spicy sheep's cheeses from the Alentejo.
