Conti Zecca
Conti Zecca –
Puglia, as it tastes: coast, lowlands and 500 years of family
Conti Zecca is one of the oldest family wineries in Apulia. Wine has been produced here since the 15th century, when the family moved from Naples to the "heel" of the Italian boot – and to this day, all descendants bear the title Conti Zecca. The winery is managed from Lecce, in the heart of a region otherwise dominated by large agricultural operations.
The vineyards reflect the diversity of Puglia : coastal sites with flatter soils produce lighter, fresher wines, while the inland plots with deeper soils yield fuller, fruit-forward wines. This interplay of terroir and family tradition gives Conti Zecca wines their distinctive character – southern Italian warmth without heaviness, fruit with poise.
Those who drink Conti Zecca wines experience Puglia as it truly is: down-to-earth, direct, and with a history that begins long before the modern wine boom.
