Cims de Porrera represents the best that Priorat has to offer: wines that delve deep into the fractured Llicorella slate soil, drawing something truly unique from it. This small winery in the heart of Catalan Priorat focuses on old Garnacha and Cariñena vines that struggle through barren soils and dry summers – and you can taste this very tension in the glass.

No compromises, no mass production – only concentrated, characterful wines with the wild soul of their homeland.

Gregor K. about Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila

Cims de Porrera - wild slate wines from the heart of Priorat

Cims de Porrera is located in the village of Porrera, one of the most authentic places in the Catalan Priorat region . Here, the Llicorella schist fractures at the surface—a fractured, barren soil that retains little water and forces the vines to dig deep into the rock. What sounds barren creates concentration: few grapes per vine, but with a density that is immediately noticeable in the glass.

The winery relies exclusively on old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, many of them over 50 years old. These vines survive dry summers without irrigation—not despite, but because of their deep roots in the schist. The style of the wines follows this logic: no manipulation, no adaptation to international tastes, but a direct translation of soil and climate into the bottle.

Those who drink the wines of Cims de Porrera experience Priorat in its most concentrated form—dark fruit, mineral depth, and a long, dry finish. Perfect with braised lamb, aged Manchego cheese, or a leisurely evening.
