Cims de Porrera Vi de Vila
Porrera is considered one of the Grand Cru villages of Priorat — terraced schist vineyards ( Llicorella ), old Garnacha and Cariñena vines, intensely concentrated wines. The Vi de Vila delivers exactly that to the glass.
The Cims de Porrera winery works exclusively with grapes from the village of the same name and sees itself as the guardian of the typical Porrera character: powerful, but with the coolness and minerality that the slate brings to the wines.
In the glass, aromas of dark blackberry, preserved cherries, and plum compote emerge—the rum pot impression arises from the interplay of ripe fruit with a subtle hint of clove and black pepper. The palate is dense and full-bodied, the tannins present but well-integrated. The finish is long with a mineral, slightly rugged note—typical of Llicorella wines from Porrera.
Drinking window until approximately 2033, drink decanted now or store for another 3-5 years.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C.
- Leg of lamb with rosemary and garlic
- Braised beef shoulder with thyme
- Mature Manchego or Idiazábal
Cims de Porrera represents the best that Priorat has to offer: wines that delve deep into the fractured Llicorella slate soil, drawing something truly unique from it. This small winery in the heart of Catalan Priorat focuses on old Garnacha and Cariñena vines that struggle through barren soils and dry summers – and you can taste this very tension in the glass.
No compromises, no mass production – only concentrated, characterful wines with the wild soul of their homeland.
