The name recalls the Knights of St. John, who welcomed pilgrims here. The second growing area is called Hospitalet de Gazin. Pomerol as it should be – powerful, elegant, with depth.

Château Gazin is located in the heart of Pomerol, one of the smallest and most coveted wine-growing regions in Bordeaux. For decades, the Bailliencourt family has managed the winery with a consistency that shows in the glass: dark fruit, velvety texture, fine tannins – Pomerol in its classic form.
The name goes back to the Knights of St. John, who hosted pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela here in the Middle Ages. This heritage lives on in the second vineyard area, the Hospitalet de Gazin. The history is not a marketing tool, but part of the house's identity.
In the vineyard, Gazin relies on low yields and hand-picking, and in the winery on precise vinification without exaggeration. The result is wines with aromas of plum and cassis, spicy undertones, and a gentle oak aging that supports the fruit without masking it. Ideal with braised meat, game dishes, or a ripe Comté.
