Château du Moulin Rouge is located in the commune of Cussac-Fort-Médoc, between Margaux and Saint-Julien, in the heart of the Médoc region. It has been family-owned for 13 generations. The Pelon-Ribeiro family places great value on tradition and cultivates the vineyards sustainably to consistently offer their customers outstanding quality for over 40 years. The vineyards of the Cru Bourgeois Domaine cover 18 hectares of typical gravelly soil, benefiting from the microclimate created by the proximity of the Gironde estuary, which acts as a powerful temperature regulator. The vines are over 40 years old and consist of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Château du Moulin Rouge is located in Cussac-Fort-Médoc, one of the quiet hearts of the Médoc, wedged between the famous appellations of Margaux and Saint-Julien. The estate has been owned by the Pelon-Ribeiro family for 13 generations — a continuity that you can feel in the wines: no experimenting for the sake of experimenting, but consistent craftsmanship on familiar ground.
The 18 hectares of vineyards are located on typical gravel soils of the Médoc, which benefit from the proximity to the Gironde estuary. The water acts as a natural heat buffer and protects the vines from late frost and extreme temperature fluctuations — a decisive advantage for even ripening. The vines are on average over 40 years old and consist of 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc: a classic Médoc assemblage that keeps structure and melt in balance.
The family manages their vineyards in an environmentally friendly way and avoids unnecessary interventions in the vineyard as well as in the cellar. The result is wines with a clear origin: dark fruit, fine tannin structure, and the typical seriousness of a true Cru Bourgeois — accessible in their youth, with potential for the cellar.
