Branciforti

Branciforti comes from one of the most fascinating corners of Italy: the rolling hills between Mount Erice and the Egadi Islands in the heart of Sicily. At an altitude of 300 to 400 meters, just a stone's throw from the sea, everything that makes this island so special wine-wise grows on the Tenuta Gelso Grande estate .

Grillo, Catarratto, Nero d'Avola – here the vines speak the language of their homeland. Sun-drenched, shaped by sea breezes, sustainably cultivated. Wines that bring Sicily to your glass.

Branciforti –
Wines from the heart of western Sicily

Nestled between Mount Erice and the Egadi Islands, at an altitude of 300 to 400 meters, lies Tenuta Gelso Grande – the heart of Branciforti. Its location is unusual: close enough to the sea to benefit from constant sea breezes, yet high enough to guarantee cool nights that impart freshness and vibrancy to the wines.

The classic Sicilian varieties are cultivated here: Grillo, Catarratto, and Nero d'Avola. These are not international powerhouses, but grape varieties that have been rooted here for generations and directly reflect the island's terroir – mineral, sun-ripened, with a salty breeze on the finish. Cultivation follows a sustainable approach that protects the character of the soil rather than altering it.

What distinguishes Branciforti is this directness: wines without detours, showing western Sicily as it is – warm, clear, and with a touch of wildness. Grillo pairs well with grilled fish or burrata with tomatoes; Nero d'Avola accompanies lamb, pecorino, or dark olive tapenade.
