Branciforti Catarratto Bianco Sicilia

An uncomplicated Sicilian wine that shows what Catarratto is capable of: bright fruit, lively acidity and the Mediterranean flair of the island – direct and without beating around the bush.

Branciforti vinifies one of Sicily's oldest white grape varieties. Catarratto covers large parts of the Sicilian wine region and is considered the island's white backbone – long underestimated, now rediscovered. The vine thrives on the calcareous clay soils of western Sicily, where hot summers and cool sea nights shape its aromatic profile. Branciforti focuses on a clear, fresh vinification: no oak, no malolactic fermentation – the emphasis is on the natural fruit and vibrant acidity of the grape variety.

In the glass, the wine shines a bright golden yellow with green reflections. The nose reveals ripe pear, wildflowers, and a hint of white peach, along with a subtle citrus zest that lends freshness to the bouquet. On the palate, it is light and clean: medium-bodied, with a present but never sharp acidity, and a clean, short, mineral finish with a slight salinity – typical of white wines from the Sicilian coastal region.

Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Drink now – this wine is designed for youthful freshness, not for aging. It pairs well with grilled calamari, spaghetti alle vongole, light pasta dishes with lemon and herbs, or simply as an aperitif on a warm evening on the terrace.

Branciforti

Branciforti comes from one of the most fascinating corners of Italy: the rolling hills between Mount Erice and the Egadi Islands in the heart of Sicily. At an altitude of 300 to 400 meters, just a stone's throw from the sea, everything that makes this island so special wine-wise grows on the Tenuta Gelso Grande estate .

Grillo, Catarratto, Nero d'Avola – here the vines speak the language of their homeland. Sun-drenched, shaped by sea breezes, sustainably cultivated. Wines that bring Sicily to your glass.
