Wiston Brut Rosé NV

Wiston Brut Rosé NV
An English sparkling wine that shows what the chalk soils of the South Downs can achieve: fresh, precise, and with real aromatic depth.
Wiston Estate is located in West Sussex on the same chalk formations as Champagne — it is no coincidence that the wines of this family winery play stylistically on par with classic rosé Champagnes. The Brut Rosé NV is a cuvée with Chardonnay as the backbone, supplemented by red grape varieties that contribute color and fruit.
In the glass, it glows salmon pink; the perlage is fine and persistent. On the nose, rhubarb, raspberry, sour cherry, and red currant — plus a hint of wild rose and lemon peel, which gives the whole thing elegance. On the palate, a lively, refreshing acidity appears; on the finish, a characteristic accent of hibiscus and sherbet, which keeps the wine lively.
Best served at 8–10 °C — as an aperitif, with salmon tartare, grilled shrimp, or a light strawberry dessert.
