Embarrassed The Mill Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot

Vergelegen The Mill Race is an elegant red wine from South Africa, bearing the signature of the renowned Vergelegen winery. This blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, presents intense aromas of dark berries, plums, and subtle spice notes. On the palate, it displays a balanced structure with soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. Aging in oak barrels imparts additional depth and a delicate smokiness. The Mill Race is a versatile red wine that pairs perfectly with grilled meats, hearty stews, or aged cheeses. An expressive wine with South African character, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, this Vergelegen blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc captivates with a bouquet of ripe berries, plums, chocolate, and coffee, coupled with spicy notes and a hint of mint. With its amazing balance between fruit and wood, the Mill Race is an ideal accompaniment to spicy pasta or roast beef.

The Vergelegen wine estate is located on the South African coast of False Bay, less than an hour from Cape Town. Founded in 1700 by Adriann van der Stell, it is now owned by André van Rensburg. The estate's vines grow at altitudes between 140 and 310 meters, in clay soils. Clay soils are particularly well-suited for vine growth due to their water retention capacity. The climate in this region is characterized by mild temperatures thanks to its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The Vergelegen wine estate cultivates grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, and Chardonnay for its wines.
