Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva is a wonderfully complex, generously inviting, and full-bodied rum with a honey-sweet viscosity. Its great depth, with aromas of dried fruit and apricot jam, leather and tobacco, along with notes of coffee and delicately sweet vanilla, will impress any connoisseur. It is well-balanced, with a spicy hint of cinnamon and ginger, followed by a pleasantly bitter finish. Our impression: a rum for the most discerning palates. Ron Zacapa is a rum from the Zacapa region of Guatemala, produced by Licorera Zacapaneca, founded in 1930. The rum matures at an altitude of 2,300 meters in the mountains, where it is aged in charred bourbon oak barrels. It acquires its distinctive flavor from a brief aging in Spanish sherry casks. The aroma is reminiscent of chocolate and coffee, while the taste is similar to cognac.
