Riesling Kabinett Reiler Mullay-Hofberg fruity sweet

A classic Mosel Kabinett, just like in the textbook: light, delicate, with the tension between sweetness and acidity typical of the region.

The Julius Treis winery is rooted in Reil on the Middle Moselle – a place known for its steep slopes of weathered Devonian slate. The Mullay-Hofberg is one of these distinctive single vineyards: The slate soils store the day's warmth and release it to the vines at night, which sharpens the aromas and keeps the acidity vibrant.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow. The nose is fresh and clear: green apple, gooseberry, a hint of citrus. On the palate, the sweetness remains delicate—it sustains without becoming cloying, thanks to the Mosel-typical acidity, which maintains tension and balance. The finish is light, clean, with a fine minerality.

With 8–9% alcohol by volume, this Kabinett is an uncomplicated companion for warm evenings. Serve well chilled ( 8–10 °C ): with dessert with peach or apricot, with mild goat cheese, with Asian dishes with a touch of sweetness — or simply as an aperitif for any occasion.

Weingut Julius Treis

Weingut Julius Treis from Reil on the Middle Moselle – that is over three centuries of wine history that you can really taste. The family has been growing Riesling here since 1684. Today, Tobias Treis carries on the legacy – with respect for the old and curiosity for the new. His wife Andrea brings her own passion. Together they keep the embers glowing. The Riesling grapes grow on steep slopes, every vine is tended by hand. That takes strength – but exactly this care makes the difference. Mineral, fresh, with the fine spice of the Moselle slate: That is how origin tastes.
