Riesling Grand Cru Saering AC Alsace Grand Cru 0.75L

The Saering is one of the oldest Grands Crus in Alsace — a striking limestone hill south of Guebwiller with heavy, pebble-rich soils that give the Riesling an unmistakable mineral tension. Domaines Schlumberger, the largest private winery in Alsace with over 140 hectares of vineyards, has been managing the Saering for generations and is considered one of the most reliable addresses for Alsatian Grands Crus.

In the glass, a clear, golden-yellow Riesling appears with a fine citrus line: lime zest, white grapefruit, and a hint of dried apricot. The pebble-rich soils leave a salty-mineral pull that makes the finish long and precise. The acidity is lively but never sharp — the wine appears taut yet elegant.

Drink it at 10–12 °C with grilled sea bass with lemon butter, tarte flambée with crème fraîche and onions, or a ripe Munster. It also pairs well with Asian-spiced dishes with ginger and coriander.

Domaines Schlumberger

Domaines Schlumberger, located in Guebwiller in southern Alsace, has been family-owned since 1810 and is one of France's most prestigious wineries. Today, the seventh generation runs the estate: Séverine and Thomas Schlumberger cultivate approximately 140 hectares of vineyards – the largest contiguous AOC vineyard in Alsace, 70 hectares of which are in four Grand Cru sites. On steep slopes with gradients of up to 50 percent, tended by draft horses and supported by over 50 kilometers of stone retaining walls, wines of great depth are produced. Schlumberger uses only its own grapes and consciously produces only half of what the law would permit.
