Ridge Three Valleys

Zinfandel-dominated, warm and structured: The Ridge Three Valleys from Sonoma shows why the area east of San Francisco has been one of California's most exciting red wine destinations for decades.

Ridge Vineyards in the Santa Cruz Mountains is one of the few American wineries with a truly distinctive style. Since the 1960s, Paul Draper has relied on traditional winemaking methods: spontaneous fermentation, open fermentation tanks, and aging in American oak barrels. The Three Valleys blends Zinfandel grapes from the Dry Creek Valley, the Russian River Valley, and the Sonoma Valley—three vineyard sites that give the wine its depth and complexity.

In the glass, it shines a deep red with a violet rim. The nose offers blackberry, anise, and a hint of espresso. On the palate, raspberry jam, dark chocolate, and a touch of pastry unfold, supported by ripe, velvety tannins. The finish is long, warm, and slightly spicy.
