Puro Malbec

The Malbec grapes for Dieter Meier's Puro grow in the high-altitude vineyards of Luján de Cuyo. The greatest advantage of this altitude is the cool nights. These slow down the natural ripening process, allowing the grapes to reach their full physiological maturity, developing a harmonious balance of alcohol and tannin aromas while maintaining a fresh acidity. Dieter Meier cultivates his vineyards using organic methods, irrigating the extremely dry soils with a trickle of Andean meltwater. The grapes for the single-varietal Puro Malbec are harvested at the end of March, immediately transported to the winery, fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 27 to 28 °C, and aged without oak, exclusively in stainless steel tanks, to preserve the juicy freshness of the varietal fruit to the fullest extent. A youthful, deep red with violet highlights. Puro Malbec from Dieter Meier displays a very beautifully open, fragrant and aromatic bouquet with lots of fresh berry fruit alongside notes of ripe Morello cherries and a hint of coffee.

Puro Dieter Meier

Those of us who are older might still remember the Swiss pop duo Yello with singer Dieter Meier. But music is just one passion of this multifaceted artist and successful businessman. Another great passion is organic farming. For years, Meier has been a committed organic farmer in Argentina: he raises cattle in the Pampa Humeda and produces wine in Agrelo Alto. Both are certified organic.
