Puro Malbec

The Malbec vines for Dieter Meier's Puro grow in the high-altitude vineyards of Luján de Cuyo. The greatest advantage of this high altitude is the cool nights. Because they delay the natural ripening process and thus allow the grapes to reach their full physiological maturity, while developing a harmonious balance of alcohol-tannin-aromas and at the same time preserving a fresh acidity. The extremely dry soils of the vineyards are irrigated drop by drop with meltwater from the Andes. The grapes for the varietal Puro Malbec are harvested at the end of March, brought immediately to the winery, fermented at controlled temperatures of 27 to 28 °C in stainless steel tanks, and aged without wood, purely in stainless steel tanks, in order to maximally preserve the juicy freshness of the grape variety's fruit in the wine as well.

Youthful, deep red with violet highlights. Puro Malbec from the house of Dieter Meier shows a very beautifully open, fragrant-aromatic bouquet with plenty of fresh berry fruit alongside notes of ripe Morello cherries and a hint of coffee.

Puro Dieter Meier

The older ones among us might still remember the Swiss pop duo Yello with singer Dieter Meier. But music is only one passion of the multifaceted artist and successful businessman.

Another great passion is organic farming. For years, Meier has been a convinced organic farmer in Argentina: he breeds cattle in the Pampa Humeda and produces wine in Agrelo Alto. Both with organic certification.
