Poggio alle Gazze dell'Ornellaia is the white exclamation mark of a house primarily known for its red Bordeaux blends. Behind the name lies Sauvignon Blanc from Tuscany—and thus a wine that combines Mediterranean warmth with aromatic precision.

Ornellaia is located in Bolgheri, directly on the Tyrrhenian coast of the Maremma. The winery is one of the most famous in Italy and has been cultivating Sauvignon Blanc on the hill "Poggio alle Gazze" – the Magpie Hill – since the early 1990s. The proximity to the coast brings cool sea breezes that give the wine freshness and structure despite the warm climate.

In the glass, it displays a vibrant yellow color. The nose opens with ripe mango and wildflowers, accompanied by a subtle almond note that lends the wine depth. On the palate, it is full-bodied without heaviness—the acidity remains present and carries the finish long and clean.

Served at 10–12 °C , it pairs well with grilled sea bass with fennel, linguine alle vongole, or creamy goat cheese. It also makes a great aperitif with antipasti.
