PIN:OX White Wine Cuvée

The PIN:OX White Wine Cuvée from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett is a multi-layered white wine from the Palatinate that shows what happens when craftsmanship and terroir come together. The winery in Duttweiler, southwest of Neustadt an der Weinstraße, has been working for generations with the sandy soils and variegated sandstone weathering soils of the Palatinate — a substrate that gives white wines freshness and minerality.

In the glass, the cuvée presents itself with aromas of white peach, citrus zest and a hint of herbal spice. The palate shows a lively acidity structure, medium body and a clean, slightly mineral finish. The composition of several grape varieties gives the wine complexity without appearing heavy.

Pairs well with asparagus in hollandaise, grilled sea bass or a creamy goat cheese. Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated companion for a summer evening on the terrace.

The Winery

Weingut Bergdolt-Reif & Nett

Five generations, one place: Duttweiler in the Palatinate. The Bergdolt-Reif & Nett winery has deep roots here – the historic sandstone vaulted cellar dates back to 1838, and some of the wines still mature in it today. At the same time, the winery opened a new building in 2017 that shows where the journey is heading: creative, independent, without a template.

Since Christian Nett began helping to steer the ship in the early 2000s, the range has been anything but predictable. Clear wines of origin from the Palatinate stand alongside so-called concept wines, where an idea dictates the style. Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz, and Merlot show that the Palatinate is capable of more than the expected.
