Pinot Noir dry III Tradition

The Spätburgunder Tradition III from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett shows what the Pfalz can achieve with Burgundy grape varieties: a red wine with a clear structure that combines elegance and depth without feeling heavy.

The Bergdolt-Reif & Nett winery is one of the most reliable addresses for Spätburgunder in the Pfalz. The family cultivates vineyards around Duttweiler and Ruppertsberg on sandy variegated sandstone and weathered limestone soils — a terroir that gives the Pinot Noir freshness and mineral grip. The Tradition line represents the winery's classic house style: aging in wooden barrels, carefully dosed so that the fruit profile remains in the foreground.

In the glass, the wine shows a bright ruby red. On the nose, sour cherry, blackberry, and a hint of strawberry, underpinned by fine notes of wood spice. On the palate, medium body, velvety tannins, and a lively acidity that keeps the finish long and fresh.

Best served at 16–18 °C — with duck breast with cherries, grilled lamb chops, or an aged mountain cheese.
