Oberrotweil Pinot Gris dry -black earth-

The Oberrotweil Pinot Gris dry "Schwarze Erde" (Black Earth) is the insider tip for the local wine from Oberrotweil in Baden, produced by Johannes Landerer . The name reveals its origin: "Schwarze Erde" refers to the barren, volcanically weathered soils that characterize the wine without overpowering it. Made from 100% Pinot Gris, spontaneously fermented, and aged for several months on the lees in large wooden barrels – the soil takes center stage, while everything else remains in the background.

In the glass, a bright, elegant straw to copper gold. The nose opens with fresh apples, pears, oranges, and a hint of exotic fruit, accompanied by delicate herbs and a subtle, spicy note. On the palate, very fresh and clean, with a light creaminess, elegant acidity, and a long, mineral finish.

Served at 10–12 °C with 12.5% alcohol by volume. An ideal accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine, mushroom dishes, light meats and robust saltwater fish – dry, precise and unmistakably from the dark soils of Oberrotweil.

Landerer

Landerer Winery – this is Burgundy that tastes of volcanic soil. Literally. On the Kaiserstuhl, where ancient volcanic rock forms the soil, the Landerer family has cultivated their vines for generations. The Kirchberg, Eichberg, and Henkenberg vineyards give the wines something that can't be forced – it has to be allowed to happen. Johannes Landerer understood this early on. At 17, he planted his first vineyard, experimented in the barren rock, and developed his own style. In 2016, after the sudden death of his father, Thomas, he took over the winery – a heavy burden he bears with respect and passion. What drives him: that you can truly taste in the glass where the wine comes from. Vintage, soil, microclimate – everything should be perceptible. To achieve this, his team works in harmony with nature, consciously reduces yields, and gives the grapes time to ripen. Wine that tells a story. People who listen.
