Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva Rioja DOCa
The Prado Enea is Muga's answer to the question of what Rioja can achieve at the highest level: a Gran Reserva with Burgundian elegance that needs time – and rewards it.
Bodegas Muga has stood for classic winemaking in Haro, in the heart of the Rioja Alta, since 1932: fermentation in oak vats, aging exclusively in American and French oak, fining with egg white and isinglass – without modern shortcuts. The Prado Enea carries the Gran Reserva designation: at least two years in the barrel, followed by further aging in the bottle.
In the glass, this blend of predominantly Tempranillo with Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano reveals aromas of blackberry, dried fig, and a core of cedar and tobacco. On the palate, a dense yet refined tannin structure unfolds, accompanied by ripe fruit and a spicy, toasty, leathery note. The finish is long, warm, and smooth – not a sharp cut, but a gradual fade.
