Muga Blanco Rioja DOCa

White wine from Rioja – that sounds unusual to many, but Muga has been demonstrating for decades that the region is capable of far more than just Tempranillo. The Muga Blanco is a lively, structured white wine with genuine character.

Bodegas Muga is one of the most traditional family-run wineries in the Rioja Alta. Founded in Haro in 1932, the winery continues to rely on its own cooperage, manual vineyard work, and gentle vinification—all done in-house, all by hand. The Muga Blanco combines three classic white Rioja grape varieties: 90% Viura , complemented by Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca.

In the glass, it displays a pale straw yellow color. The nose offers fresh citrus zest, green apple, and a subtle hint of oak that adds depth without overpowering the wine. On the palate, it is crisp with lively acidity, delicate fruit, and a dry, slightly mineral finish.

Bodegas Muga

Bodegas Muga – tradition is the great secret. A visit to Haro, in the heart of Rioja, conveys a sense of peace, prestige, and serenity that few top wineries can match. For decades, Muga has operated its own cooperage – all the vessels used in winemaking are handcrafted. The wines mature in peace and darkness. Key wines: Rioja Reserva, Seleccion Especial. Torre Muga is among the best in Spain. The Gran Reserva Prado Enea? A legend, comparable to great, mature Burgundies. Conservative, classic, and world-renowned – this is Spanish wine culture.
