Les Façonnières lies in the heart of Morey-Saint-Denis — one of the most underrated villages of the Côte de Nuits, sandwiched between the Grands Crus of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. This Premier Cru demonstrates why the village deserves its own distinct character: more robust than the delicate Chambolle, more elegant than the muscular Gevrey.

Virgile Lignier-Michelot cultivates his plots in Morey with the aim of letting the character of the site speak for itself. Les Façonnières lies in the upper part of the appellation on calcareous soil—a site that gives the Pinot Noir structure and depth without sacrificing finesse.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby ​​red color. The nose opens with aromas of blackberry, cherry pit, and a hint of violet, underpinned by an earthy, slightly mushroomy note typical of Morey. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity that keeps the finish long and fresh.

Best served at 16–17 °C . Drinking window 2025–2032. Pairs well with partridge with lentils, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or a mature Époisses.
