Mar de Frades Albariño DO - Magnum
The Mar de Frades Albariño from the DO Rías Baixas embodies what makes Galicia so special: Atlantic freshness, vibrant acidity, and a mineral depth that flows directly from the granite-rich soils into the glass. The magnum bottle makes it the perfect choice for tables where more than two glasses are planned.
The grapes come from hand-picked plots in the Rías Baixas, one of Spain's wettest and greenest wine-growing regions. Granite dominates the soil here, giving the Albariño its characteristic salinity and a cool, vibrant acidity. After harvesting, a short cold maceration captures the aromatic richness of the skins before the wine undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation and is then aged on its fine lees.
In the glass, white peach, grapefruit, and a hint of sea breeze emerge—this salty note is not a cliché, but a true hallmark of Atlantic Albariño. The finish is long, dry, and characterized by a vibrant citrus note. Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs perfectly with seafood, grilled sea bass, scallops with lemon butter, or a classic octopus a la gallega.
