Lisa Bunn Bunn Voyage red wine cuvée
A red wine from Rheinhessen that shows what Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot can achieve together — if you give them time.
Lisa Bunn manages her winery in Nierstein on the Rhine. The Bunn Voyage cuvée combines 60% Cabernet Sauvignon (4-year-old vines) with 40% Merlot (13-year-old vines). The grapes were harvested by hand on October 21st, with an average of 92° Oechsle — ripe material that brings substance. After fermentation, the wine aged for 12 months in French oak barriques.
In the glass, it shows dark blackberry jam, a clear pepper note, and a hint of cedar wood from the barrel aging. The tannin is present but fine-grained — not a block of wood, but a red wine with grip and smoothness. Medium to full body, pleasantly long finish.
- Food: Leg of lamb, beef brisket, or spicy pasta with ragù
- Temperature: 16–18 °C

Lisa Bunn and Bastian Strebel dared to do something special in Nierstein in 2011: a winery from the ground up – with a clear attitude. Their Rieslings grow on the Roter Hang, on deep red slate. The Pinot varieties in the limestone-rich Wintersheim. In the cellar, they work naturally: spontaneous fermentation, long maceration times, aging in wooden barrels, patience on the fine lees. Organic cultivation on 21 hectares – not a concept, but lived everyday life. The result: wines that appear lively, complex and full of character. Wines that have something to tell.
