The combination of soil, sun, sea, wind, and the stories of this land shapes every wine. Ornellaia's soils are of marine, alluvial, and volcanic origin. The vineyards of Ornellaia are divided into dozens of parcels—each one a microcosm with its own identity and expression. The rows of vines are predominantly oriented southwest to capture the last rays of the sun before it sets over the sea.
