Lagar de Cervera Albariño
An Albariño that brings the humid Atlantic air of the Rías Baixas directly into the glass: lively acidity, ripe orchard fruit, and a salty minerality that lingers long on the finish.
Rías Baixas, Galicia. Bodegas Lagar de Fornelos belongs to the Rioja Alta group and farms its vineyards in the heart of the O Rosal subzone, right on the border with Portugal. The granite and slate soils of this Atlantic-influenced coastal region give the Albariño its characteristic freshness and mineral depth. Harvesting is done by hand, and fermentation takes place under temperature control at low temperatures to preserve the aromatic purity of the grape variety.
In the glass, the wine glows a bright golden yellow. The nose shows ripe mango and pineapple alongside citrus zest and a hint of white flowers. On the palate, a powerful but integrated acidity carries the fruit, and the body remains lean and fresh. The finish is salty-mineral – typical for the granite soils of O Rosal.
Best served at 10–12 °C.
Pairs with: Pulpo a la Gallega, grilled prawns, scallops, or light fish dishes with lemon butter.
