La Motte Rosé
A South African rosé made from the classic Rhône trinity — Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah — with the finesse of a winery that has been one of the most consistent addresses in the Franschhoek Valley for decades.
La Motte lies at the foot of the Franschhoek Mountains, nestled in one of the most picturesque wine regions of the Cape Province. The winery has been family-owned for generations and stands for a clear, Mediterranean style — characterized by cool nights that ensure freshness and aromatics.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright salmon pink hue. The nose offers nectarine, red currant, and a hint of dried herbs. Lively on the palate, with a mineral character and a clean, dry acidity. The finish is short and fresh—not heavy, but a wine for the moment.
Recommendation: Serve well chilled at 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, goat cheese salad, or light pasta dishes with tomatoes and fresh herbs. Also a reliable choice as an aperitif on the patio.
