Some ice candy with green leaves, tart grapefruit, and a hint of orange. Clear and delicately juicy, lively and fresh with a distinct drive but also a firm directness, a seemingly slender body with a firm backbone, very straightforward and precise, tart citrus fruit with a purist salinity, herbs, green leaves, quite dry, slightly astringent and mouth-drying, again tart and deep with a finish that plays with lots of green leaves, fresh herbs, complex, salty minerality, and tart citrus fruit.

Rheingau since 1648. Today in Hochheim, managed by Gunter Künstler and his team. 42 hectares of vineyards on light, loamy soils. The focus is on Riesling – in many variations. Also cultivated are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir. Among the best vineyard sites are the Hochheimer Hölle, the Kirchenstück, and the Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg. Around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Rheingau as it should be – precise, elegant, and full of character.
