Kitten Riesling GG

Located above the Kestener Paulinshofberg and directly extending the Brauneberger Juffer, lies the south-southeast facing steep vineyard "Monzeler Kätzchen." The few hectares of this classified, old, heartland vineyard extend at an altitude of approximately 160-200 meters above the Moselle River and are characterized by a finely structured topsoil, as well as blue slate, clay slate, and a small proportion of loess. Because the pussy willows have always bloomed early in this particularly warm microclimate, making the vineyards visible from afar as bright harbingers of spring, the site was given the name "Kätzchen" (kitten). These old vines in the best parts of the vineyard root deeply in the fine, stony soil and produce a mineral, very elegant wine with both yellow fruit aromas and floral nuances. The bouquet offers delicate aromas of yellow fruits, lychee, and floral notes. Very charming on the palate, ripe tropical fruit paired with stone fruit and fresh herbs. An elegant, mineral finish with juicy quince and cool slate.
