Karl May Osthofen Pinot Blanc dry
A Pinot Blanc that shows more depth than the grape variety often suggests: barrel aging in large casks gives it structure and warmth without masking the fruit.
The Karl May winery operates in Osthofen , one of the best white wine regions in Rheinhessen. The village lies on calcareous loess soil — ideal for Pinot Blanc, which develops both richness and tension here.
In the glass, the wine displays nutty aromas —hazelnut, a hint of almond—underpinned by subtle toasty and smoky notes from the oak aging. These are complemented by peppery spice and a mineral undertone that grounds the wine. The body is creamy, the acidity well-integrated, and the finish surprisingly complex and lingeringly smoky.
