Kanonkop Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon

The Kadette Cabernet Sauvignon is an accessible entry into the wines of Kanonkop: juicy in its fruit core, fresh in acidity, with fine, grainy tannins that give the wine structure without closing it off.

Kanonkop is one of the most famous wineries in Stellenbosch, in the South African Western Cape. The Kadette range represents the uncomplicated side of the estate, and the Cabernet Sauvignon is its latest addition. The wine is produced in open fermentation vats, a traditional method that allows the fermentation process to be easily observed and controlled. The result is a classic Stellenbosch Cabernet that is ready to enjoy without waiting.

In the glass, blueberries appear, accompanied by subtle oak spice. On the palate, the wine is juicy and lively, the tannins provide a fine, grainy texture, and the aromas linger on the palate. Serve at 16–18 °C with grilled entrecôte, braised lamb shoulder, or burgers with sharp cheddar. It is also perfect for an evening with friends where a bottle is quickly emptied.
