Hedges DLD Syrah

Hedges DLD Syrah
A Syrah from the Red Mountain AVA – one of the warmest and most mineral-rich sites in Washington, known for dense red wines with structure and depth.
Hedges Family Estate has been managing vineyards on Red Mountain since the early 1990s, a small, wind-swept hill east of the Cascade Range. The calcareous loess soil and the extreme day-night temperature fluctuations shape the style: fully ripe fruit, but always with acidity and grip in the background.
In the glass, the DLD Syrah shows aromas of cassis and dark blackberry, underscored by cocoa powder, leather, and a hint of coffee. Cloves and roasted hazelnut give the nose a spicy, slightly smoky depth. On the palate, the wine feels round and dense – ripe tannins, lively fruit, long spicy finish with a cocoa note.
- Food: Lamb shank with herb crust, braised beef, aged Manchego
- Temperature: 17–18 °C
