Hedges DLD Syrah

Hedges DLD Syrah
A Syrah from the Red Mountain AVA – one of Washington's warmest and most mineral sites, known for dense red wines with structure and depth.
Hedges Family Estate has been cultivating vineyards on Red Mountain, a small, windswept hill east of the Cascade Range, since the early 1990s. The calcareous loess soil and the extreme day-night temperature fluctuations shape the style: fully ripe fruit, but always with acidity and grip.
In the glass, the DLD Syrah displays aromas of cassis and dark blackberry, underpinned by cocoa powder, leather, and a hint of coffee. Cloves and roasted hazelnut lend the nose a spicy, slightly smoky depth. On the palate, the wine is round and dense – ripe tannins, vibrant fruit, and a long, spicy finish with a cocoa note.
