Albis

The Albis from Haras de Pirque represents the joint project of two winemaking dynasties: The Chilean family Matte and the Tuscan winery Antinori have developed a cuvée that combines Chilean fruit with European structure.

Haras de Pirque is located in the Maipo Valley south of Santiago, one of Chile's most traditional red wine regions. The volcanic rock and clay soils provide the foundation for Cabernet Sauvignon with depth and structure. The Albis matures for 18 months in barriques —a classic treatment for a wine of this caliber.

In the glass, it displays dark blackberry and black cherry, underpinned by cedarwood, dark chocolate, and an earthy undertone. The tannins are firm but integrated thanks to barrel aging. Juicy finish with good length.

Haras de Pirque

Haras de Pirque – a winery and horse farm in the heart of the Maipo Valley. In 1991, Eduardo Matte acquired the property and opened it as a winery. It comprises 600 hectares of land, 120 of which are vineyards. The main building, shaped like a horseshoe, is a striking landmark. Today, the estate is 50 percent owned by the Marchesi Antinori family from Tuscany. Together, they produce wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Carmenère, and other grape varieties. The Pirque subregion is considered one of Chile's best wine-growing areas worldwide, especially for red wines. In 2004, their first joint project debuted: Albis. Maipo Valley, Tuscan influence – a fascinating combination.
