Gufo Primitivo Terre D'abruzzo

Cantina Tollo is one of the defining cooperatives of the Abruzzo region — founded over 60 years ago, it now manages around 3,000 hectares of vineyards in the heart of the region. The sites for the Gufo Primitivo are located in the gentle hills between the Adriatic coast and the Apennines, where the interplay of continental nights, warm days, and calcareous-loamy soils drives the Primitivo vine to produce concentrated fruit.

Deep ruby red in the glass with violet reflections. The nose shows ripe blackberry, dark plum, and a hint of vanilla, underscored by cocoa and mild spice notes. On the palate, it has a medium to full body, soft, well-integrated tannins, and a moderate acidity that gives the wine freshness without dominating the fruit. The finish is warm, fruit-forward, and pleasantly long — not a wine for the cellar, but for enjoyment in the near future.

Best served at 16–18 °C. Drinking window until 2027. Pairs with pasta with lamb ragù, grilled sausages, arrosticini, hearty pizza, or mature Pecorino.
