Colle Secco Rubi Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOP comes from the heart of Abruzzo – one of Italy's most distinctive red wine regions, characterized by a continental climate, calcareous clay soil, and the cooling winds of the Apennines. This combination gives Montepulciano its typical depth and, at the same time, remarkable freshness.
In the glass, it displays a rich ruby red color with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by ripe plums, dark cherries, and blackberries , underpinned by elegant spice notes of leather, tobacco, and a hint of licorice . On the palate, the wine impresses with a full-bodied yet balanced structure – the tannins are present but velvety, and the finish is long and spicy.

Both, with a clear structure: ripe plum, dark cherry, and blackberry meet leather, tobacco, and a hint of licorice. The tannins are velvety integrated, the finish is long and spicy – a Montepulciano with depth and good freshness at the same time.
What does the wine pair best with?
It is a reliable companion to hearty dishes: braised beef, leg of lamb, pasta all'Amatriciana, or grilled meat. It also pairs well with mature Pecorino.
At what temperature should I serve it?
Ideally at 18–20 °C. If it has been stored warmer than room temperature, put it in the fridge briefly – 15 minutes is usually enough.
Is this a wine for special occasions or more for everyday?
More the latter – in the best sense. The Colle Secco Rubi is artisanally produced, DOP-certified, and priced in such a way that it can be opened during the week without compromising on character.
How should I store the bottle?
Cool, dark, and lying down – ideally between 12 and 16 °C, away from direct light and strong temperature fluctuations. The natural cork closure will reward you with stable quality.
