Grauburgunder VDP. Gutswein QW Ahr

A dry Pinot Blanc from the Ahr, which brings together freshness and creaminess. The VDP. Gutswein from Weingut Nelles is the entry point into the estate's quality pyramid and shows how the grape variety sounds in this northern red wine region.

The Ahr is known for its steep slopes and slate-dominated soils, which often give wines a fine minerality. Weingut Nelles is a member of the VDP, whose Gutsweine stand for wines from their own vineyards with a clear regional signature.

In the glass, there is a light color and aromas of green apple, pear, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it feels creamy, the acidity is well integrated and keeps it lively, plus there is a subtle minerality in the finish.

Recommendation: Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 °C. It goes well with fried fish, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, poultry in cream sauce, or mild soft cheese. It also works well solo in the evening.

The Winery

Weingut Nelles

VDP Member Estate

The Nelles winery is one of the addresses in the German wine landscape that you should know. Craftsmanship, a clear sense for terroir, and wines that show character without being loud – that is the style that distinguishes the bottles from this house. Whether in the cellar or in the vineyard: work is done here with conviction, not by the book.
