Grappa di Moscato - Sauternes Cask Finish Double Magnum 3.0L

This Grappa di Moscato from Piedmont shows the aromatic, floral style for which the Moscato grape variety is known – refined by a maturation phase in Sauternes barrels, which gives the distillate an additional note of sweetness. Bocchino is one of the traditional grappa houses of Northern Italy and is known for its variety of types and careful handling of the pomace brandy.

On the nose, floral scents, underpinned by stone fruit and grape must. On the palate, initially spicy, then a shift to a grassy, fresh note. The sweetness from the Sauternes barrel accompanies the entire progression without appearing intrusive, and leads into a long, aromatic finale.

Serve the grappa at room temperature, preferably in a tulip-shaped glass so that the floral aromas can unfold. Classically as a digestif after a meal, ideal with a piece of Gorgonzola or dark chocolate. The double magnum bottle with 3.0 liters also makes the bottle an eye-catcher for special occasions and larger dinner parties.

The Distillery

Bocchino

Bocchino has stood for Piedmontese grappa tradition for generations. The distillery from Canelli in the heart of Monferrato processes only fresh pomace from Piedmont – Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo – and distills it in small copper stills. The result: characterful grappas with a clear origin, aromatic depth, and a velvety finish. Pure after a meal, slightly tempered at about 14–16 °C.
