Grappa di Barbaresco - Barbaresco Cask Finish 0.7L

Bocchino's Grappa di Barbaresco is one of the most characterful pomace brandies of Piedmont: the mash comes from Barbaresco production, one of the country's great Nebbiolo appellations, and subsequently matures in Barbaresco barrels — hence the name Cask Finish and the amber-colored depth in the glass.

Bocchino is one of Italy's oldest grappa houses, based in Canelli in the heart of the Astigiano since 1898. The distillery has specialized in the distillation of Piedmontese pomace and traditionally works with discontinuous copper stills. The cask finish in used Barbaresco barrels brings an additional layer to the brandy: the Nebbiolo aromas that still adhere to the barrel are transferred to the grappa and give it structure.

In the glass, cherries, a hint of cocoa, and subtle vanilla appear, carried by a warm, round texture. The finish is long, slightly spicy, without sharpness. Drinking temperature: 16–18 °C — neat in a wide grappa glass, classic after a meal, or as an accompaniment to dark chocolate and aged Pecorino.

Bocchino

Bocchino has stood for Piedmontese grappa tradition for generations. The distillery from Canelli in the heart of Monferrato processes only fresh pomace from Piedmont – Moscato, Barbera, Nebbiolo – and distills it in small copper stills. The result: characterful grappas with a clear origin, aromatic depth, and a velvety finish. Pure after a meal, slightly tempered at about 14–16 °C.
