Glenmorangie Barrel Select Calvados Cask Finish 12 Years old

Glenmorangie Barrel Select Calvados Cask Finish is a Highland single malt that forges an unusual link between Scottish distilling tradition and Norman fruit wine culture. The twelve-year maturation period culminates in former Calvados casks from Normandy – a finish that Glenmorangie is the first bottling of its kind to achieve.

As the fifth release in the Barrel Select series, this whisky embodies the typical experimental spirit of the Tain distillery, which has been working with unusual cask types for decades. Glenmorangie is considered a pioneer of cask finishing – its in-house copper stills are among the tallest in Scotland, giving the distillate a floral foundation from the very beginning.

The house signature is clearly evident in the glass: jasmine blossoms and pear from the long aging process, along with baked apple and a hint of caramelized fruit from the Calvados oak. The finish is smooth, with a subtle spiciness.

Serving suggestion: neat at room temperature or with a splash of still water to unlock the fruit aromas. If desired, serve over a large ice cube – this slows down the dilution and allows the Calvados notes to linger.

Glenmorangie Distillery Plc.

Glenmorangie – one of Scotland's most famous distilleries. Single malt has been distilled with passion in the Highlands on the Dornoch Firth since 1843.

What makes them special? The tallest stills in the Scottish whisky world. Their height creates fine, elegant distillates – soft, fruity, aromatic. No heavy peat, but a bright, inviting side of Scotland: ripe pears, vanilla, a hint of honey.

Added to this is the fascination for casks: from American oak to Calvados or Tokyo cask finishes. Whether you are a beginner or a connoisseur – here you will find whisky that inspires.
