Glaetzer Wallace Shiraz Grenache

An Australian red wine with a clear signature: Shiraz and Grenache from the Barossa Valley, where the Glaetzer winery has focused on ripe, characterful fruit for generations.

Colin Glaetzer is one of the most experienced winemakers in the Barossa region. His Wallace is the accessible entry point to his range—named after the Barossa pioneer Johann Wallace Glaetzer. The grapes come from older vines in the region, harvested at full ripeness. Fourteen months of aging in American oak barrels gives the wine structure and rounds out the fruit.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red. The nose offers ripe blackberry, black cherry, and a distinct peppery note—typical of Barossa Shiraz. The Grenache component brings pomegranate and a subtle earthy spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with soft tannins, vanilla from the oak aging, and a finish with a hint of toffee.

Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Now at its peak, but will keep until the end of the decade if stored in a cool place.
Goes well with braised lamb shoulder , grilled beef brisket or spicy hard cheeses such as Manchego.

Glaetzer Wines

Glaetzer Wines – Barossa Valley, family-owned since 1888. Today, Ben Glaetzer carries on his father Colin's legacy – with his own style and uncompromising standards. His wines come from Ebenezer, a small sub-region in the northern Barossa. Here, ancient vines with exceptional depth of flavor thrive. The result: Shiraz with juicy plum and dark chocolate notes – powerful yet elegant. From the approachable Wallace to the iconic Amon-Ra: Small winery, highest standards, distinctive character. Barossa as it should be.
