Glaetzer Anaperenna

Not yet 30 years old, Ben Glaetzer is already one of the great stars in Australian viticulture. While he earns his money as a wine consultant not only throughout Australia but also with renowned producers of the 'Old World', the heart of the 'Young Winemaker of the Year' belongs to his Heartland wines and the world-class exceptional Shiraz. The Glaetzers are among the oldest winegrowing families in Australia and have dedicated themselves to small, ultimately fine wines. Super premium wines with distinct terroir character in strictly limited quantities are the impressive result. The noble Shiraz grape was already imported to Australia in 1837 from France, where it is called Syrah. Black-red color, rich, fruity, and spicy scent characterize it.

Even opulent Shiraz wines bring surprisingly fine structures to the palate. On the tongue, the taste of dark fruits and a spicy undertone dominates, leaving a great depth of flavor with a dry finish. Actually the "little brother" of the Amon-Ra, Ben Glaetzer says of his Godolphin: "In terms of knowing what I wanted to achieve, and then producing it, this is probably the best wine that I've made." After 15 months of aging in French oak, Godolphin enchants with a nose of blackberries, currants, and rising mineral notes as well as a dreamlike persistence in the finish.
