Glaetzer Anaperenna
Not yet 30 years old, Ben Glaetzer is already one of the biggest stars in Australian winemaking. While he earns his living as a wine consultant not only throughout Australia but also with renowned producers in the 'Old World', the 'Young Winemaker of the Year's' heart belongs to his Heartland wines and his world-class Shiraz. The Glaetzer family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Australia and has dedicated itself to producing small, exquisite wines. Super-premium wines with a pronounced terroir character, produced in strictly limited quantities, are the impressive result. The noble Shiraz grape was imported to Australia from France, where it is called Syrah, as early as 1837. Its black-red color and rich, fruity, and spicy aroma are its hallmarks. Even opulent Shiraz wines still exhibit surprisingly fine structures on the palate. The taste of dark fruits and spicy undertones dominates, leaving a great depth of flavor with a dry finish. Essentially the "little brother" of Amon-Ra, Ben Glaetzer says of his Godolphin: "In terms of knowing what I wanted to achieve, and then producing it, this is probably the best wine that I've made." After 15 months of aging in French oak, Godolphin enchants with a nose of blackberries, currants, and rising mineral notes, as well as a wonderfully persistent finish. Robert Parker: 97 points

Glaetzer Wines – Barossa Valley, family-owned since 1888. Today, Ben Glaetzer carries on his father Colin's legacy – with his own style and uncompromising standards. His wines come from Ebenezer, a small sub-region in the northern Barossa. Here, ancient vines with exceptional depth of flavor thrive. The result: Shiraz with juicy plum and dark chocolate notes – powerful yet elegant. From the approachable Wallace to the iconic Amon-Ra: Small winery, highest standards, distinctive character. Barossa as it should be.
