Esporao Reserva Tinto Alentejo

Esporao Reserva Tinto Alentejo
The Esporão Reserva Tinto comes from the Alentejo — one of Portugal's hottest and most distinctive wine regions, where vast cork forests and red clay soils dominate. Herdade do Esporão has been cultivating these lands since 1267; today, the modern winery is one of the Alentejo's most renowned producers.
In the glass, the Reserva displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers ripe blackberries, black plum, and a hint of cedar from the barrique aging. On the palate, soft, well-integrated tannins, medium body, and subtle toasty notes on the finish—not a wine that demands attention, but one that simply works.
Recommendation: Braised lamb with rosemary, grilled chorizo, or a strong sheep's cheese from the Alentejo region. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Drink now or store until 2027.

As part of Portugal's Montado ecosystem in the Alentejo region, Herdade do Esporão enjoys exceptional agricultural conditions. Approximately 40 grape varieties are cultivated on nearly 700 hectares of vineyards. In addition, they cultivate four olive varieties, orchards, and vegetable gardens. The Herdade do Esporão brand is built on a commitment to constant nonconformity, change, and creativity, which is particularly evident in its wines.
