Elena Walch »20/26« Rosé 0.75L

A rosé that combines the alpine character of South Tyrol with Mediterranean lightness — clearly structured, fresh, and with real substance in the glass.

Elena Walch is one of the defining names in South Tyrol. The winery, based in Tramin on the Wine Road, cultivates vineyards that benefit from the influence of the Dolomites and the heat-retaining properties of Lake Kaltern. The »20/26« Rosé is made from Merlot — a grape variety that retains its fruitiness in South Tyrol at an altitude of a good 500 meters, while gaining a freshness often missing in lower-lying sites.

It glows a bright salmon pink in the glass. The nose shows strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by a fine citrus line that gives the whole thing liveliness. Juicy and slender on the palate at the same time, with a crisp acidity structure and a silky mouthfeel — not a gram of heaviness, long, dry finish.

Serve well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs with shrimp in lemon butter, grilled goat cheese on arugula, or a summery vitello tonnato. It also cuts a fine figure as an aperitif on the terrace.
