El Raño Sardines in Spicy Oil

El Raño Sardinas en Aceite Picante come from Spain, where artisanal fish canning has a long coastal tradition. On the Galician Atlantic coast, fresh catches are quickly processed and preserved in high-quality oil—a craft passed down through generations by family businesses.

These sardines are marinated in spicy chili oil that provides warmth without being overpowering. The flesh is firm yet tender—not mush, but with a satisfying bite. Sea salt, fish flavor, and subtle heat complement each other perfectly.

On tomato bread Catalan style, straight from the can with lemon, or over pasta with capers. A chilled Albariño from the Rías Baixas region is the perfect accompaniment: its acidity and saltiness perfectly reflect what's in the can.

Around 3,000 products from about 400 artisanal producers: cold-pressed olive oils, handmade pasta, balsamic vinegars, antipasti, and rarities such as caper leaves from the island of Salina.
