Dr. Wehrheim Pinot Gris

Pinot Gris from the Palatinate – and from the Dr. Wehrheim winery in Birkweiler, no less: this is a combination that stands for substance. Karl-Heinz Wehrheim is one of the style-defining winemakers of the southern Palatinate; his white wines are known for depth without heaviness.

In the glass, this Pinot Gris shows an aroma profile of ripe pome fruit – pear, quince – as well as subtle vanilla and coconut notes that indicate wood aging. Added to this are herbal-mineral tones and a hint of oriental baking spices. The palate receives the wine lively and fresh, with noticeable extract and backbone. The finish is long-lasting, slightly astringent, with a fine minerality in the aftertaste.
