Dr. Heger's Erste Lage Ihringer Winklerberg is a Pinot Gris vinified with great finesse. A brilliant aroma of young pears, crisp yellow apples, light apricots, and candied mirabelle plums, with a hint of candied lemon peel. Simultaneously rich and transparent on the palate. A highly subtle, saline minerality complements the body. Wonderfully approachable with bright, expressive fruit, yet also with finely nuanced, unobtrusive depth. Very understated substance. An invigorating, open, and fresh finish.

Dr. Heger Winery

The Dr. Heger winery – a country doctor laid the foundation in 1935. Max Heger purchased fallow parcels of land on the Ihringer Winklerberg vineyard, and his son Wolfgang continued the business in the 1960s. Today, oenologist Joachim Heger manages the estate in the third generation – together with his wife Silvia. He has been chairman of the VDP Baden (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) since 2009. In addition to the Winklerberg vineyard, the estate now also includes parcels on the Achkarrer Schlossberg vineyard – both classified as "Erste Lage" (Premier Cru) by the VDP. On volcanic weathered soils with a loess topsoil, wines with character, depth, and fine minerality are cultivated here. Top-class Baden wines that you can taste.
